This is the day it was delivered, I was in love! - 11/1/2006.. |
11/11/2006 - New set of Wheel Vintiques 50 Series SS396 Wheels, 15x7 in., 4.375 in. Backspace. New BFG's. 235/60-15 up front and 255/60-15 out back. I did some detailing on the interior and added some new SS mats. |
| 12/02/2006 - New ceramic coated headers, new exhaust tips, new SS steering wheel and a new gauge pod on the driver piller. | ||||
| 12/10/2006 - Engine all detailed and I installed a new set of Cast aluminum chromed valve covers, new air cleaner and painted the Edelbrock Torker II with new POR15 Aluminum paint (Which is awesome paint). | ||||
| 1/3/2007 - Cleaned up the new 4 speed, mounted the new Hurst shifter and bracket on the tranny, installed the new tranny, install a new big block bell housing with new 11 inch clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. Also built a new boot trim plate for the console. | ||||
| 1/20/2007 - Installed the new floor pans on both sides. There was a leak coming from the kick panel vents that caused all of this you see. I address this culprit at the same time. | ||||
This is a shot of the driver floor and Driver Passenger floor
This is the new floor, all welded in and top seams sealed |
| 1/26/2007 - Sealed the seams under the new floor pans and under coated it. I also painted the inside floor with POR-15, DynaMat is next. | ||||
| 1/27/2007 - Here's the new floor all done with the Dynamat installed, took me 5 hours to install it. Was a little of a PITA but worth the work.. | ||||
| 2/10/2007 - The floor is all done and the brand new carpet is installed, looks like new! The pictures don't do it justice!! I also ran the wires and mounted the switch on the shifter for the line lock, future brake upgrade coming..!! | ||||
| 3/2/2007 - I installed the new chrome power booster and master cylinder which also includes a line lock for some burn out fun. I also installed chrome molding around each wheel opening. It all looks great and the molding make a nice touch. | ||||
| 3/15/07 - I took the front of the engine apart to fix an oil leak in the main seal. Installed a new timing chain cover and balancer cover in chrome. | ||||
| 3/30/07 - Finished installing New Edelbrock Air gap with endura shine, New Holley 650 DBL Pump with the Shine finish, New Accel Dizzy, New Accel Wires. New Mechanical Chrome Fuel pump, New wire looms, New Alum high flow Water pump, New high flow thermostat 165 deg., New Alum Griffen Rad (Two core, 3 inch wide), New cast alum chrome timing chain cover (this fixed my oil leak), New chrome Alt bracket, New Chrome Radiator cover, New Chrome Master Cyl, New Chrome Power Booster, New Chrome Power steering pump, New Line lock to play with. | ||||
4/19/07 - Just some new picks, this is also after I buffed out the paint with my Port-a-cable and four coats of Zano polish.
8/6/07 - Turned out I had rear main bearing on its way out. Found metal filings in the pan so, went with a new ZZ4 crate! From the factory without any changes by me (yet), 355HP with 418 FT LBS of torque!!! |
8/26/07 - Changed the console lights over to LED's, the original lamps had horrible lighting. |
9/8/07 - Installed all new body mounts and frame connectors |
9/30/07 - My heater core bit the bullet so, install a new one and converted it over to a big block heater core. |
10/15/07 -Completely all new rebuilt Saginaw 4 speed, 2 ring input shaft (3.11 first gear).. Also installing along with it, a set of 3;73 gears! The one in it now is a 3 ring (3;50 first gear) and first gear is just way to low with the 3.73's. |
11/01/07 - Chrome powder coated Hinges, looks great and adds a nice touch! |
11/10/07 - My baby is in the body shop having the following done;
12/8/07 - Got a new Richmond Super Street 5 speed OD, its rated for 600 FT LB's. I'll be installing this when the Nova gets back from the body shop. The will last a long time in my setup because I don't plan on going over 600 FT LB's of TQ. This tranny has the 2.98 first gear with the 10 spline input shaft. |
2/8/08 - Here she is after 3 months at the body shop, he took much longer then he said he would. Dropped it off on 11/10/07, also replace the rear window and molding. |
3/10/08 - Well, been working on the 5 speed swap for the past 4 weeks (Don't
mind the dirt, she filthy!) The shifter hole in the transmission
tunnel needed to be cut back 4 inches. Worked out well. I still need to
install new intermediate exhaust pipes because it's hitting the new cross
member and clean her up.
These are with the exhaust all finished and I took her for a blast down the
road. |
| 4/12/08 - Got tired of dealing with the Hurst boot ripping so, got a Lokar and modified everything. Came out great! | ||||
| 4/13/08 - Installed a set of Lakewood traction bars to keep the wheels on the ground. | ||||
4/21/08 - My chrome power steering pump I got a year ago has been leaking. I
tried everything so, went and bit the bullet and got a new March Performance
Bullet power steering pump. Looks at home in there!
| 5/6/08 - I'm having a poster done so I took some new pictures at work, these are what the artist is going to use. Man she looks good... | ||||
5/8/08 - I Had a custom poster made up for car shows and got an extra one
for my home office. Came out nice!
1/25/09 - Well, the ZZ4 now has 1000 miles on her so, time
for the upgrade. Installed the new LT4 Hotcam, Scorpion 1.6 Roller
rockers, Edelbrock Air Gap intake and a new Holley 750 dbl pump. Runs like an animal!! The
picture of the engine showing the roller rockers was taken with my phone and
is crappy. But, it gives you the idea... I also powder coated my
valve covers in a three stage process. Black Cherry over chrome powder
and then cleared with Starlight which gives it that sparkle look. It
looks black till the sun hits it and then it starts to glow the black
cherry. Looks awesome... Estimated engine HP / TQ now: 425HP / 450 LBS
TQ
2/13/09 - Well, it was time for a 3 inch exhaust system. Installed
modified Headsman header extensions, PYE-SGF13 EXHAUST SYSTEM (stainless),
Dynomax ULTRA FLO mufflers and polished stainless steel tips. I have
also gone over (not shown in these pics) each U bolt and cut off the excess
studs flush with the nuts. I still need to install the Polished Stainless
Steel tips. Waiting for the exhaust pipe expander to come. This
system is the best sounding setup I have ever heard hands down!
| 3/8/09 - It was a nice day so, I took the car out of the garage and snapped a few pics after the LT4 cam upgrade. | ||||
5/9/09 - New Rack and Pinion
Unisteer and
steering shaft install! The install was not bad at all, everything went just as it should, the only thing I changed was the grade 5
bolts they want you to use for the lower control arm bolt replacement.
Changed them over to grade 8 and also got new locking nuts with the
expansion head. I also added a lock washer to the outer tie rod adjustment
nut. Just to make sure it does not come lose. Now I have plenty of room over
by cyl number 7, easy plug access now!
| 5/18/09 - I did not like the look of the grant sport wheel so, I got a restored 1970 OEM SS steering wheel to install. Now everything in the interior is done and matches the 1970 cloning. | ||||
| 8/08/09 - Had ghost Chevelle stripes painted on the hood when I had a few scratches repaired. | ||||
| 8/15/09 - Installed a set of ProComp Chrome two piece valves covers, the look much better in person. The chrome is so reflective, its hard to get a good picture. Allows valve adjustment without breaking the seal.. Very trick.. | ||||
8/16/09 - Some videos of me at the Dutchess County Airport drag racing:
My first run (Win) Second run
(Win)
Third run (Win) |
1/1/2010 - Installed
Hooker Super Comp headers, Fuel Tank Sump,
PowerJection
III Fuel Injection, home made drive shaft loop, Electric fuel pump system
with an Professional
Products Fuel pump,
Mallory 6A CDI ignition,
Mallory promaster
coil, painted the block POR15 Chevy orange and painted
the sub frame POR15 gloss black.
| 5/2/2010 - The Professional Products Fuel pump did not work out well, very loud and something got caught in the feed line and starved the pump. So, the pump bit the bullet. Went with a Walbro External 255 LPH In-line Fuel Pump GSL392. Works great and it super quiet!.. Also installed a rear end girdle by LPW. | ||||
